Costello Tagliapietra Fall 2011

Thanks to Erin, I was able to go to Costello Tagliapietra Fall 2011 Collection.

Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra presented a collection with intricate drapery and vibrant colors ranging from spiced orange and silky olive green to lush purple. The collection was presented with a clear understanding of movement: the dresses swayed from side to side effortlessly as the models strutted down the runway. This was especially evident from the satin skirts and draped gown. I love the use of different fabrics, especially the outfits made with sequined purple color tones. The two developed pieces with an array of colors that looked rich and accentuated the silhouettes.

What else leaves you unexpected when a typical runway is not what you see at a fashion show? Well, Andrew Buckler surprised us by closing down an entire block in Soho to showcase his collection. The color scheme started out with charcoal and other dark colors, and slowly bloomed into pieces that were slightly mixed with highlighter yellow and graphic prints. He presented a collection with layering in different ways- cabled cardigans, tailored jackets, cotton pants, and loose jersey shirts just to name a few. After the show, we were able to get a closer look at the garments inside the store through a presentation.

Thanks to Erin Jeen, I was able to attend the Dannijo presentation this season!

The two different American Eras, the frontier of the Wild West and the 20's, inspired Dannijo Fall 2011 Collection. It was evident that designers Danielle and Jodie Snyder focused on the different elements of jewelry to display a bold statement. The intricate pieces are developed with a clear understanding of composition. Delicate chains dangling in the proper places added more to the edgy overall look of the jewelry presented. Eclectic color tones enhance the appealing quality of the ornamentation, as if the different sizes did not do that already. 

The combination of the different materials are used in a lavish manner that can beautify any outfits worn by an individual. We also see layering which could look alluring with the right styling. Lust jade, hippy spiced orange, and emerald green are some of the common colors seen in the palette that the designers used. Besides the rich hues, the chunky abstract shapes, in different sizes and materials, gave the jewelry a striking appearance that can satisfy any look a woman is going for.
