Seventh Annual CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund Awards

The prices have increased to $300,000 for the winner and $100,000 each for the runners-up. It never hurts to have a little cash. Diane von Furstenberg and Reed Krakoff mentioned that it was such a hard decision to make, and anyone of them could have won.

Congrats Billy Reid, and of course, to the runners-up Eddie Borgo and Prabal Gurung! It was great working with Billy Reid during his Spring/Summer 2011 Collection.

Marchesa Spring 2011 Presentation

Thanks to my friend Meriam, I got to attend one of the most exciting presentation during NYFW- Marchesa.
Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig revealed their Spring 2011 creations at the Chelsea Art Museum. The place was packed with fashionistas who examined the collection that did not disappoint. The pieces were stunning and displayed an oriental inspiration- with their hand painted silk drapes and heavy embellishments.
The collection delivered a dream-like palette- smoky grey, mint, rose blush, beige, with a pop of aqua and dark lavender on tulle, organza, laser cut silk crepe.
Each dress had exquisite drapery with interesting details. This was also evident in the harem-panted jumpsuits. I love the romantic twist in addition to the "edgy glamour" from this collection.

Marchesa also had accessories such as the matching clutches and headpieces that satisfied many fashion lovers. I can't wait to see some of this on the red carpet!

Here are some photos I took from the presentation. Enjoy.
