Freja Beha Erichsen for Vogue UK

Freja Beha Erichsen looks playful wearing these clothes that appear in the cover shoot for the August issue of Vogue UK. Everything that is seen in this editorial shot by Josh Olins conveys simplicity with a flirty twist. Freja present a very "school girl" look with the basic silhouettes and the socks and heels. I love how the whole thing is styled with careful selection of color blocking, finished with shoes that adds even more to the vibrant colors of the clothes. The palette is exposed to different variations, leading to an outburst of colors which I adore.

Silicone, Saline, Poison, Inject me, Baby

These photos were actually taken at the Zara fitting room. Only because I had nothing else better to do because Christian Stroble no longer needed my assistance at a set during a fashionshoot editorial. I was just strolling around downtown and found myself roaming around Zara and carelessly trying on things I personally liked.

Jeena's Family Restaurant

I am filled with gratitude towards Jeena and her family as she welcomed me and a few other friends to devour a few filipino dishes. I have just met Jeena during that day, from meeting up with Audrey and Jon, and decided to offer us a free meal at her family restaurant called "Mama Meena's". Her mom was so welcoming and greeted us warmly. We went towards the back next to the T.V. that showed filipino channels and they took our orders right away. Aside from our small talks and outbursts of laughters, everyone enjoyed the food. It was a hot day, but our server always supplied us with cold beverages. We started off with Lumpia Shanghai served with sweet chili sauce, which was delicious and crispy. Other than that, we ordered food for the whole table. This includes, Crispy Pata which I didn't get a chance to taste because I wasn't in the mood to grab it from the other side of the table. haha. We also had Pork and Chicken Barbeque and Pansit Palabok. I loved the appearance of the Palabok that Audrey enjoyed mixing. I ordered chicken barbeque, and I was very satisfied with its texture and I could tell everything was fresh and cooked with passion. It wasn't dry and it was marinated well that I couldn't stop from consuming it.

We were all served with Sago at Gulaman which is a drink that is mainly made out of sugar and "sago and gulaman." I have no other words to describe it, but all i know is that everytime I'm at a Filipino restaurant I always order this because it makes me feel at home. It wasn't overly sweet, but it definitely quenched my thirst. If anyone is in the mood for some very good filipino cuisine, I suggest trying this place out. Not to mention that it is affordable as well. Jeena gladly offered as desert, and I was SO ready to order Flan but I was full. I'm sure that I will come back for more though!

Shell shock, Fall back, Anyone I see through.

Alice Spies is currently interning for Opening Ceremony. I passed by her on my way home from the Upper East Side when I took a glance at her bag and quickly fell in love with it. I loved her hair which adds to the tomboy-ish yet feminine style. I thought her whole outfit was so chic, mainly because of its muted color tones contrasted by the gold buttons and the rich color of her vintage bag. Her Ralph Lauren blazer was my favorite other than the bag. It delivered a preppy yet hipster look. The tailoring was similar to a classic men's style and the labeling of the brand was just exquisite. Her rings reflected a different style which I found pleasing because they were delicate but robust.

Believers

Valerie was such a feminine girl who was full of joy and happiness. I enjoyed partaking in a conversation with her as if we were having brunch- almost like we were bestfriends, talking about boys and such. I complimented her mix of patterns because I did not see much during that day. All I saw were muted and dull tones, and as soon as I saw this, I was delighted. She denied by saying that she did not have much time in the morning to think of what to wear because she was somewhat frustrated. But even if you were frustrated, it still made a pretty cool combination.. Right? Thin stripes, geometric patterns, and delicate floral prints were discovered in her outfit- finished with white cutout sandals. The blazer was a great choice, because this addition toned down the collision between the top and the pants. The two different bold patterns can strike violently and destroy the whole look.

Christian Dior Fall 2010 Couture Collection

John Galliano's "nature inspired" haute couture collection for Dior displayed a fresh appearance-exploded with vibrant colors and overpowering textures. The collection that were seen at the Musee Rodin presented work that was seductive yet full of elegance.

"His basic reference point was Christian Dior's 1953 spring collection, which introduced the "tulip line" and included floaty prints. you could also see the influence of photographers-- Irving Penn and Nick Knight, chiefly- who were beguiled by the colors and structures of flowers."

Delicate fabrics were used as we see in the pictures provided. Each look is intensely driven by the dramatic structures and unexpected color combinations. The cellophane bouquet wraps formulate a coordinated look as it gives off the same "floral garden" sense- especially with its transparent color.

"Part of his research involved studying real flowers, spending an hour watching the light change on a parrot tulip, for instance. That partly explained the collection's wonderful colors, especially the vibrancy of the dégradé effects"
-Style.com Tim Banks

It's not surprising that floral and nature can be used as an inspiration, but what excites me is the way that its been properly incorporated into the designs and the garments. It was not only seen in the color palettes and patterns, but the techniques used to construct the dresses- ruffling and layering just to mention a few. Which are all seen in the importance of a flower's growth in nature.

Say you won't but don't leave me standing.

Francesca Vuillemin and Brice were very easy and enjoyable to talk to because of their pleasant welcoming. I enjoyed conversing with them about whatever there was to talk about. The combination of the two was very pleasing to the eye. Bold colors occurred but in such a calming way. The mustard tone of Brice's pants (from H&M) looked amazing next to the cool checkered baby blue skirt that Francesca wore.

Brice's outfit was very well put together. His shoes are greek sandals from Athens. His folded jeans gave it a "laid back" look and his graphic tee made it look effortless. But with the addition of the blazer, he still looked classy.

I did not notice the heels in Francesca's shoes until she presented them to me. They were so cute, but the structured heels gave it a hint of an edgy twist. The skirt reminded me of something that would be in Christopher Kane's Spring 2010 collection due to its pattern. I loved how her blouse toned it down and made it look so feminine yet powerful.

World Famous Tigga Calore

It was difficult to miss taking a picture of this girl, because she looked so fierce even though the weather was above 69 degrees.. ;). LOL.
The whole outfit was so grunge and dark- with a militaristic twist. Layers played a part in her outfit. Shorts, leggings, and almost like a turtleneck but with a sophisticated cut. She got her shorts from HoodbyAir.
I loved how risky this outfit was, not only because the weather was extremely hot, but because of its texture and its overall look.

Check out her music, its pretty amazing. http://tiggacalore.tumblr.com/

Nilea

Nilea's outfit was very easy to notice due to its bold prints and bright colors. She didn't make it look like she dressed up for halloween, and I'm only saying this because it consisted of orange and black. She looked so good in this jumpsuit because she knew how to tone it down by wearing a blazer with it. I adore this print on her and her hair dye added something to it. To top it off she wore lace up peep toed shoes (from Argentina) and rings that were simple yet beautiful.

It sort of reminded me of the jumpsuits that were worn during the Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring 2010 show. Bold prints, bright colors, and structured clothing.
